On November 29, 2024 as recall was issued on field grown cucumbers by Sun Fed Growers. Sunset Foods is unaffected by this recall, as the cucumbers we received are from Farmers Best Growers. Please see the link below for further information on the impacted items.
Grimmway Farms Recalls Organic Whole and Select Organic Baby Carrots That May be in Consumers’ Homes Due to Potential E. Coli Contamination
(Bakersfield, Calif.) November 16, 2024 – Grimmway Farms has issued a recall of select organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots that should no longer be in grocery stores but may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.
These products may have been contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) O121:H19. E. coli O121:H19 is a bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and those with a weakened immune system. Some infections can cause severe bloody diarrhea conditions, such as a hemolytic uremic syndrome, or the development of high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, and neurologic problems. Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, and/or vomiting. The incubation period for E. coli O121:H19 in humans can range from 24 hours to as much as ten days. The average incubation period is 3 to 4 days.
The following recalled products were shipped directly to retail distribution centers nationwide in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada:
- Organic whole carrots, which do not have a best-if-used-by date printed on the bag, but were available for purchase at retail stores from August 14 through October 23, 2024,
- Organic baby carrots with best-if-used-by-dates ranging from September 11 through November 12, 2024.
The recalled carrots should not be available for purchase in stores but may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

The company is voluntarily recalling these carrots after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that these products may be associated with an outbreak. To date, 39 illnesses and one death have been associated with an E. coli O121:H19 outbreak.
The company has also notified its customers who received the recalled product directly from Grimmway Farms and requested that those customers notify distributors of the recall products. The implicated farms are out of production, and none of the recalled carrots have tested positive for E. coli O121:H19.
Consumers: The recalled carrots should no longer be available for purchase but may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who purchased carrots in the table above and still have them in their refrigerator or freezer should not consume them; they should be destroyed or discarded so they cannot be consumed. If you have these products in your home, do not eat or use them, throw them away, and clean and sanitize surfaces they touched. TreeHouse Foods Announces Expansion of Voluntary Recall to Include All Waffle and Pancake Products
Recalled products were distributed throughout all states and provinces within the United States and Canada and packed in various formats under the brand names listed here. Consumers and retailers can identify the UPC on the back of the carton, and the Lot Code and Best By Date for these products (ranging from 12 to 18 months, depending on the product) on the end of the carton.
Evol Frozen Burritos and Meals
October 17th, 2024 – BrucePac, one of Conagra Brands’ suppliers, produces ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry. On October 9, 2024, BrucePac, in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), initiated a product recall on select ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. This resulted in a recall by Conagra Brands of 8,046 cases of Udi’s Multi-serve Meals that we initiated with impacted customers on October 11, 2024. On October 15, 2024, USDA announced an expansion of the BrucePac recall. BrucePac subsequently notified.
Conagra that some of the product from the expanded recall was supplied to Conagra Brands. Upon investigating, Conagra has identified 21,502 cases of select EVOL Single-serve Meals and Burritos have been shipped to customers that were made with BrucePac product from its expanded recall. As such, Conagra Brands is conducting a voluntary recall of these cases of EVOL Single-serve Meals and Burritos as the product does not meet Conagra’s high-quality standards due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Importantly, for those customers that received our prior communication as a result of the initial BrucePac recall, there are no additional impacts to the 8,046 cases of Udi’s Multi-serve Meals previously recalled. Conagra Brands does not anticipate that the USDA will issue a separate press release regarding Conagra’s recall of these products, but instead will add these products to the existing press release for BrucePac’s recall that includes a list of impacted products. The situation is limited to the impacted items and does not impact any other Conagra Brands products.

Boar's Head Provisions Co. Recalls Ready-To-Eat Liverwurst And Other Deli Meat Products Due to Possible Listeria Contamination
WASHINGTON, July 26, 2024 – Boar’s Head Provisions Co., Inc., a Jarratt, Va., establishment, is recalling all liverwurst product produced by the establishment that is currently available in commerce because it may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The company is also recalling additional deli meat products that were produced on the same line and on the same day as the liverwurst and, therefore, may be adulterated with L. monocytogenes. The company is recalling approximately 207,528 pounds of products.
The ready-to-eat liverwurst products were produced between June 11, 2024, and July 17, 2024, and have a 44-day shelf life. The following liverwurst products are subject to recall [view labels].
3.5-lb. loaves in plastic casing, or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head Strassburger Brand Liverwurst MADE IN VIRGINIA.” The products shipped to retailers bear sell by dates ranging July 25, 2024, to Aug. 30, 2024, printed on the side of the packaging.
The other ready-to-eat deli meat products were produced on June 27, 2024. The following deli meat products are subject to recall.
9.5-lb. and 4.5-lb. full product, or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head VIRGINIA HAM OLD FASHIONED HAM” with sell by date “AUG 10” on the product packaging.
4-lb., or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head ITALIAN CAPPY STYLE HAM” with sell by date “AUG 10” on the product packaging.
6-lb., or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head EXTRA HOT ITALIAN CAPPY STYLE HAM” with sell by date “AUG 10” on the product packaging.
4-lb., or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head BOLOGNA” with sell by date “AUG 10” on the product packaging.
2.5-lb., or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head BEEF SALAMI” with sell by date “AUG 10” on the product packaging.
5.5-lb., or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head STEAKHOUSE ROASTED BACON HEAT & EAT” with sell by date “AUG 15” on the product packaging.
3-lb., or various weight packages sliced in retail delis, containing “Boar’s Head GARLIC BOLOGNA” with sell by date “AUG 10” on the product packaging.
The products subject to recall were distributed to retail deli locations nationwide. The products shipped to deli retailers bear establishment number “EST. 12612” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the product labels.
The problem was discovered when FSIS was notified that a sample collected by the Maryland Department of Health tested positive for L. monocytogenes. The Maryland Department of Health, in collaboration with the Baltimore City Health Department, collected an unopened liverwurst product from a retail store for testing as part of an outbreak investigation of L. monocytogenes infections. Further testing is ongoing to determine if the product sample is related to the outbreak. Anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider.
