Is Sunset's Produce Affected By Recent Recalls?

No. Sunset Foods does not carry any products involved in these recent recalls. We have confirmed our entire supply chain for leafy greens, salad kits, berries, jalapeños, fresh salsas, guacamole, and related produce across our Produce and Deli departments is secure and separate from the sources implicated in the news. Your safety is our primary concern, and our strict sourcing policies are specifically designed to prevent such issues from ever reaching our stores and your home.

We understand the specific concerns regarding lettuces, peppers, and fresh prepared dips, and we want to offer full reassurance about how our inventory is sourced:

• 100% U.S. and Canadian Grown: All iceberg lettuce, bagged salads, and salad kits currently sold at our Sunset Foods & Grand locations are grown exclusively in the United States and Canada.
• Zero Sourcing from Affected Regions: Neither our Produce nor our Deli departments currently source any whole-head iceberg lettuce, shredded/processed iceberg, leafy greens, bagged salads, jalapeños, fresh salsas, guacamole, or prepared items from the Central Mexico region implicated in the recall.
• Isolated Commercial Supply Chains: The recent recall is strictly restricted to processed, shredded iceberg lettuce originating from Central Mexico that was distributed solely through commercial food service and restaurant channels.
• Popular Brands Unaffected: All retail-branded products on our shelves, including Taylor Farms retail salad kits and chopped kits, rely on a completely separate supply chain and are unaffected.

We maintain close relationships with our suppliers, allowing us to verify their practices and ensure they align with our high standards. Should a recall arise, we immediately follow all protocol, including removing all items from our shelves and post notifications of any recalls both at the Customer Service Desk of each store as well as on the shelf of the affected product.
