Our produce buyer, Vince Mastromauro, and our team of produce managers recently took a trip out to the farm, just an hour from Sunset. We spent three hours walking the fields with Mike Von Bergen, his wife, and two sons, who enlightened us on every aspect of their business, from planting and caring for crops to harvesting and distributing to Sunset. We were able to observe their sustainable crop rotation practices and even taste sweet strawberries right from the field—so sweet they barely made it into the basket. It’s this hands-on experience that gives us the absolute confidence in the quality of Von Bergen’s produce for us to offer to our customers.
