100% Grass-Fed and Grass-Finished

Wild Harvest beef is 100% American raised, grass-fed, and grass-finished. These cattle eat only grass and forage for their entire lives. This contrasts with competing companies that start cattle on grass but later switch to supplemental grain or a fully grain-based diet. This process yields a leaner, more nutritious cut of beef with fewer calories ounce-for-ounce than salmon.

The Piedmontese Heritage Difference

Wild Harvest Grass-Fed Steaks come from Certified Piedmontese Beef heritage cows. This rare Italian breed possesses a unique genetic makeup, specifically an inactive myostatin gene, which allows the cattle to develop extra muscle mass with very little fat. This genetic profile produces a taste and texture not found in other heritage breeds.

While 85% of grass-fed beef in the USA is imported, Wild Harvest is part of the small 15% that raises and produces our beef in the Midwest. Wild Harvest’s Certified Piedmontese cattle follow a strict zero-grain policy, grazing as nature intended.

Traceability and Proven Tenderness

Every Wild Harvest cut is farm-to-fork traceable, raised and produced in Nebraska with verified Non-GMO feed. The animals roam on open pastures without added hormones or antibiotics. These methods produce a naturally tender cut of beef, as verified by the industry-standard Warner-Bratzer Shear Test.

The Warner-Bratzer Shear Test

This test measures the force required to shear an inch core of meat. A traditional New York Strip requires 5.2 kilograms of force; a Wild Harvest New York Strip requires only 2.84kg. The meat is naturally more tender due to superior genetics and natural grazing.
